Going Down Under : Rubrik:reisen http://www.melbournefor2.com/ manly manly 2009-01-09T08:06:12Z en hourly 1 2000-01-01T00:00:00Z Going Down Under http://www.melbournefor2.com/static/icon.gif http://www.melbournefor2.com/ roadtrip - part 1 http://www.melbournefor2.com/stories/5432125/ Wir sind zurück von unserer abendteuerlichen Reise durch Western Australia und von den 649 Fotos möchten wir natürlich einige mit euch teilen ;-) <br /> <br /> Unserer Route: Adelaide nach Perth mit den folgenden Zwischenstopps<br /> Adelaide - Streaky Bay - Norseman - Esperance - Bremer Bay - Denmark - Margaret River - Fremantle - Perth. <br /> Über 3000km* und jede Menge Steppe, Sterne, Kangaroos, Schlangen, weisse Sandstrände, guter Wein und türkisblaues Meer...<br /> (* das ist ungefähr die Strecke Griechenland - Spanien oder London - Moskau)<br /> <br /> Day 1: Adelaide - Streaky Bay<br /> Nach unserer Ankunft in Adelaide am frühen Morgen gings gleich zum Avis um unser vehicle für den Roadtrip abzuholen. Wichtigster Bestandteil: Klimaanlage. Statt einem fetzigen Jeep (zuwenig Komfort und Platz im Kofferraum) wurde es dann ein geräumiger Suzuki. Alles Gepäck zur Freude aller untergebracht. Und sogar noch Platz für einen 'eski' (Kühltruhe). Also ab zu nächsten Shopping Center die wichtigsten Einkäufe tätigen: eski, Picknick Decke, Strandzelt, viel Wasser und unsere wichtigste Investition - ein tragbarer Kohlegrill für unserer BBQs. Dann gings auch schon los, für den ersten Tag hatten wir fast 800km geplant. <br /> Geschafft haben wir es dann bis nach Streaky Bay, knappe 700km. Bis zum Abend hatten wir geplant den <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nullabor">Nullarbor</a> hinter uns zu bringen. Also gings 1300km durch die Nullarbor Steppe mit kurzen Stopps in kleinen Geisterstädten die lediglich aus einer gas station und einem wirtshaus bestehen. Einwohnerzahl: 5-9. Die Strecke war sehr beeindruckend, mit ewig langen Strassen (ua der längsten geraden Strasse) und sich ständig ändernden Landschaften. <br /> Als es Dämmerungszeit wurde, stellte sich die Frage: weiterfahren oder nicht. Man hatte uns gesagt in der Dämmerung kommen die Kangaroos und könnten eventuell auf die Strasse hoppeln - und ein Kangaroo anfahren ist nun wirklich nicht schön. Nachdem wir uns aber bei den Truckfahrern erkundigt hatten, die alle vergewisserten <i>no kangaroos up until perth - too much rain lately!</i>, fuhren wir weiter. 100m weiter standen auch schon die ersten beiden Kangaroos auf der Strasse. Es ging sehr vorsichtig mit 8 sehr achtsamen Augen weiter bis wir es nach Norseman geschafft hatten. Dort erwartete uns ein total süsses Apartment mit eigenem BBQ und ausgestatteter Küche. Die schlechte Nachricht war: im Nationalpark, den wir besuchen wollten, brennt es. Alles gesperrt. Somit gings gleich an den Strand. Ein wunderschöner weisser Sandstrand nach dem anderen machte uns die Wahl schwer. Wir entschieden uns für den windgeschütztesten, wo wir dann letztendlich den ganzen Tag verbrachten. Am Abend bereitete Flo ein wunderbares Abendessen vor mit dem frischen <i>Pinkie</i> (pink snapper) den wir zuvor im Fischmarkt gekauft hatten. Stephie hatte leider eine schlechte Nacht und daher gingen wirs etwas ruhiger an. In Bremer Bay angekommen (Einwohnerzahl ca 100) ging gleich in den caravan park wo wir ein entzückendes cottage bezogen und danach die Gegen erkundeten - den perfekten Platz finden um am nächsten Tag Weihnachten zu feiern. Gesucht, gefunden. <br /> Am nächsten Tag stand zunächst ein walk durch den national park auf dem Plan. Bruce, der caravan park sagt uns noch auf dem Weg <i>watch out for the snakes </i> und mit Stock und Stein bewaffnet, kommt uns natürlich genau keine in die Quere. Am Ende des walks wieder ein wunderschöner weisser Sandstrand mit blauem Wasser (da entstand übrigens unser xmas Foto). Wieder zurück, alles einpacken für unser weihnachtliches Festessen am Strand. Wir hatten uns für den Little Boat Harbour beach entschieden und hofften auf etwas Exklusivität. Schlussendlich waren wir ganz alleine am Strand, just the 4 of us! Es war einfach grossartig - wir hatten einen kleinen Weihnachtsbaum, ein tolles BBQ und xmas lunch, haben Weihnachtslieder gesungen und die Jungs waren schwimmen. Meine Gedanken irren aber noch in tausend Richtungen. Die Arbeitswoche war die absolute Hoelle und als ich heute um fast 21:00 das Buero verlassen habe, waren immer noch ein paar offene Punkte auf der To Do Liste. Die muessen jetzt bis 2009 warten. <br /> Ich bin urlaubsreif.
